Abril Nerja Hotel

Rooms overlook a lovely terrace garden, newly decorated with double beds, built-in wardrobes, a chest of drawers, and convenient tea and coffee making facilities.

Limited coat hangers caused a struggle for two people, and the wardrobe was more makeshift than functional. Lack of a balcony led to difficulties with drying clothes and enjoying drinks quietly while kids slept, received a key on request for the outside area only after asking.

Clean, comfortable, friendly, helpful with extending stay, well located

The apartment was very well appointed and the staff very helpfull. They even washed clothes for us without charge! We know the town, Nerja, from before and have stayed other places and feel that this is the best value for money one can find there.

Compact room with a lovely balcony and perfect cleanliness. Limited closet space caused some inconvenience for our stay.

Great value for money, pleasent and helpful staff and a very comfortable bed. Quiet sin deck and a good location.

The location, and the owners and staff were very good. Had to park the car in the owners underground garage, as street parking is very difficult. Apart from that I cannot frind any faults with the Hostal Abril

Nerja is a gem 🌊🌞

The staff are super friendly, like chommies, and the cleaning ladies were amazing! Our room was always super clean. The ace aircon kept us cool and that little balcony was perfect for a smoke. The garden is a lekker spot to just chill in the evenings.

The WiFi was a bit on the slow side, but we managed to get by.

Location was perfect for the bus and a 10 minute walk to the main square. I would certainly use this hostel again as the accommodation was nice, clean and comfortable.

The only downside was when we arrived late on the Saturday night I called them to say I had just got off the bus (about 10.30) and would only be a few moments. The response was alarming as the reception did'nt want to know and told me to call back the next day before hanging up. I made my way to the hostel and called again and was told to come back tomorrow as no one spoke english. I had to approach a stranger who could speak spanish and after much reluctance we were allowed in but the reception was very frosty. We were very tired after a long trip and could have done without this and at one point were considering having to find alternative accomodation after being hung up on. How ever the accomodation was nice and clean and comfortable.

I stayed alone in the studio apartment which despite being for two people, still represented excellent value for money. The fixtures and fittings were brand new and stylish. Having free wi-fi and a combination-lockable safe was a real bonus. The staff were helpful and friendly. Hostal Abril is ideally situated close to the many beaches, the Balcon de Europe and also the bus station where you can travel to nearby Frigliana, Torrox, the Nerja caves, Granada or back to Malaga airport. I would definitely recommend it and will be returning myself.

The staff was friendly and accommodating, providing us with a key to the outside area for convenience.

The bathroom door was semitransparent, which led to some discomfort regarding privacy.

We loved our apartment at the Hotel Abril. We were on the top floor (apartment 7), which was modern, bright and sunny (post office red kitchen units and silver furnishings, which really suited our mood). The apartment was a short walk (5-10 minutes) from the town/village centre so was reasonably quite given how busy the resort was. The apartment was always kept clean and an added advantage for us (given that we were away for a month) was the use of two washing machines so that we were able to come back to the uk without the usual pile of dirty laundry! We loved the roof terrace and spend many late evenings sitting relaxing over a glass of wine. The apartment was also only 10 minutes walk away from the main supermarket so shopping was a breeze. The owners was helpful and friendly but it helped to speak a bit of Spanish. Overall it was a great holiday, made great, in part, by being in a comfortable, clean apartment with the usual facilities you would have at home (plenty of kitchen utensils, ironing board, safe, etc.)

Two things (being very picky): wi Fi was a bit hit and miss and the check out time was earlier than we are used to (11am).

Oh mate, the food scene around here is absolute dynamite! Just a hop away at La Nube, I snagged some cracking tapas that set my taste buds dancing. Plus, the rooms are a dream-spacious with a lovely balcony that had me soaking up the sun. The staff? Great! Can't wait to rave again about this place!

Now, I got to say, the air conditioning didn't work in our room.

no lift, and my wife was pregnant with 3 levels of stairs to face every day. 51 steps! still it was a nice spacious room.
